GREETERS CELEBRATE 150TH FLIGHT INTO PEASE TRADEPORT
1/30/08
After a flurry of Air Force and Marines activity, both to and from the Middle East, the Pease Greeters were on hand to welcome Commander LT COL Joseph Arthur from Laughlin AFB Texas Unit - 376, Expeditionary Squadron, USCENTAF, USAF and the 755 Aeg Based Pentagon 11 APS/MLT, 437APS, Charleston SC, returning home from Afganistan and Kyrgyzstan marking the 150th welcome for U.S. troops by America's premier supporters. The celebration included pizza, sheet cakes donated by Shaws Supermarket and the plenty of chocolate, smiles, and hugs
An unbelievable gesture of gratitude came from Sr. Airmen Broland Johnson, from Seymour Johnson AFB, NC,4th Medical Operation Squadron who presented the Greeters with his Medal of Merit! It will be proudly displayed with our flags and medals on Hero's Walk. We are humbled by your generosity and we salute you!
Another incredible moment on the January 13th flight, the Air Force Officers presented the Greeters an American Flag flown by them on missions over Iraq and Afghanistan.
The plaque is a Certificate of Authenticity. Both the Plaque and the Flag will be proudly mounted in the Hall of Flags at the airport!

Ed Johnson opened his remarks in the 6 am hour with "ALOHA NOE" (good morning) to the 25 infantry (Tropic Lightning), 5th Stryker Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and to their CO, Major Rodney Smith-their stay was brief, (no time for snow angels outside), but they enjoyed the patented Pease hospitality and Hawaiian music (how did that get there?) before departing for their assignment just north of Baghdad. The 25th Infantry is located is based in the center of the island of O'ahu, one of a number of Army facilities that include Wheeler Army Airfield, Tripler Military Hospital, as well as Forts Shafter and De Russey.
It's become a regular site at Pease Greetings: school children with patriotic pride. It has been a pleasure to be joined by Rye Junior High, the Marshwood School of Eliot, Maine, Portsmouth Christian Academy, Winnicunnet High School Marine Corps JROTC, and the Boys and Girl Scout troops. Their participation is a direct link to the future shaping of this nation and to the students, teachers and coordinators who have joined us, we salute you!
